Suburban Commuter Train Services

There are no regular commuter passenger train services from Auckland to Hamilton except for the Northerner Explorer train providing one train service from Auckland to Hamilton.

Wellington suburban train services - For fare and timetable information please phone Metlink on 0800-801-700 tollfree in New Zealand or click for online train timetables for the Johnsonville, Melling, Kapiti, Hutt and Wairarapa Lines only.

Hamilton suburban train services - There are no suburban train services in Hamilton.

There are no regular commuter passenger train services from Hamilton to Auckland, except for the Northerner Explorer train providing one train service from Hamilton to Auckland.

Christchurch suburban train services - There are no suburban commuter passenger train services in Christchurch.

There are no passenger train services from - Christchurch to Dunedin, Christchurch to Invercargill, Christchurch to Nelson, Christchurch to Mt Cook/Aoraki, Christchurch to Te Anau or Christchurch to Queenstown.

Dunedin suburban train services - There are no suburban commuter passenger train services or long distance passenger train services to and from Dunedin.

Regional Commuter Train Services

There two regional passenger train services in New Zealand, being the Capital Connection and the Wairarapa Connection operating from Wellington. The Capital Connection and the Wairarapa Connection are commuter train services, so reservations are not required.

Tickets for these trains are available from the Metlink ticket office - Wellington Railway Station, Masterton Railway Station, Featherston Railway Station and Palmerston North Railway Station or from the respective Train Manager's on the day of travel.
